"The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another." By William James
Mental health is an increasingly important issue, exacerbated by the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, economic uncertainty, and political unrest, which affect people of all ages and backgrounds.
I remember feeling particularly anxious during the pandemic, which led to overeating. Even when I wasn't hungry, I would find myself constantly snacking, with a particular fondness for sweets. Being confined at home also led to another bad habit: excessive TV watching. This combination of factors quietly impacted both my physical and mental well-being, until I realised I needed to seek help.
It took me some time to find the courage to seek professional help, and even longer to find someone I felt comfortable with. I was concerned about potential judgment from others and the stigma sometimes associated with mental health issues, so I was careful in my selection process.
During my search, I came across Marcela who originates from Brazil. She is warm and approachable and I was very much at ease to open up to her. She was counselling at a school at the time and came with great credentials. Unfortunately, it was right before the summer and she had to depart Hong Kong for a long vacation.
We have kept in touch and I would highly recommend her for those who are seeking mental wellness. Please feel free to contact us at info@skyglobal.associates if you would like further information on Marcela.
